Program Today:

Bill Firstenbergar who is the executive director at Ruthmere came and spoke to us about the history of the Ruthmere and the events that it holds. He mentioned that in 1973 it was opened as a Public House Museum. Ruthmere is actually named after Beardsley's daughter Ruth who died during infancy. Mere is a latin word that means by the water. The Ruthmere is a member supported organization and they do apply for grants to help with different things. They send out a newsletter twice a year displaying all their different events and what may be taking place. Bill mentioned that the windows on the Ruthmere received a face lift this summer. He also mentioned that Nicholas Roth is coming back to perform on November 25th at 7pm. Their music concerts will be taking place in the game room. Bill also stated that the deputy families grand piano is being gifted back to the Ruthemere and two piano series will be played off that piano this fall.
